Bio
Scott first started programming in 1985 on the venerable Apple //e. In 1993, he got his first formal exposure to the C programming language. In 1994, he interned at a large pharmaceutical company, working alongside professional process control engineers and statisticians. From 1994-1998, Scott completed an undergraduate degree in physics from Columbia University in New York City. Under the direction of leading investigators in the field of observational cosmology, he collaborated on innovative astrophysics research with emphasis on algorithms, scientific computation and computability, resulting in several publications.
Since 1999, Scott has occupied a senior individual contributor engineering role in a core technology group at a major security software corporation. At last count he is responsible for over 20,000 lines of code currently in production operation driving business critical protection delivery and product integration points affecting hundreds of millions of customers. In 2004, he was credentialed with the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification.
Since 2004, Scott has made his portfolio of advanced skills available to individuals and small- to medium-sized businesses, working one-on-one with his customers to protect their vital data, fortify their security posture, and realize the maximum potential of their technology investments.
